Singers Guitar for iPhone, Free with $2.99 IAP: by Blowbend.jp
Can you play a guitar?
No? OK! This is the app for you!
Singer's Guitar is the app for all those who is not a guitarist.
Once registered chords, you can play a guitar for accompaniment easily.
Singer's Guitar has a preset-chords of 500 or more.
You have to do is just choose the chord names of your favorite songs.
Short and sweet description for a guitar instrument app that doesn't sound too bad actually. The intent of Singers Guitar is that you arrange pre defined chords in the order you want them to play, then use advance arrows to move through the sequence as you either strum or tap (not both ?) the strings. The acoustic guitar sound is bright and has a decent sustain ... but the rest of the implementation falls way short.
Actually editing the chord sequence is a nightmare of screens, edit buttons and not being able to preview potential chord candidates (from a very comprehensive list) is crippling. Loading and saving songs is unclear, there's a 'meh' chorus effect... and the $2.99 gets rid of ads and provides a transpose function. Not worth it.
It seems many developers just wade into writing an app without even bothering to carefully survey what is already available, what it can do and how much it costs. I'm afraid Singers Guitar is just another run around the maypole for no reason what-so-ever.
